Reclaimed-Leather Chair
Our leather chair is made out of leather reclaimed from a Swiss sofa manufacturer and bended round-bar steel. It was developed collaboratively with the designers Julian Nydegger and David Richelin. Unlike the leather industry, which trims away any irregularities in the structure of the leather, we believe leather should reflect its natural origins and aim to put this character on display. Thus, irregularities are the creative means by which we aim to tell a variety of stories. Every chair is a unique creation, since the final seating area, which we carefully prepare layer by layer, depends on the kinds of leather we reclaim.
The elegant steel support structure is formed by metalworkers in Basel. It offers an exciting contrast to the leather seat, a sensual combination that entices both sight and touch. Depending on the availability of reclaimed leather, other color combinations may be possible. For an individual color selection, the best thing to do would be to call us or to send us an e-mail.
